How the SA Training looks like

Separation Anxiety Training

What makes my Separation Anxiety different ....

The Separation Anxiety Training is not just for teaching your dog to stay alone, but also for helping you understand them on an emotional level, recognize their body language in various situations, and establish a deeper connection with them.

Over the 1-1 training for four weeks or more, you'll gain a new perspective on your dog. You'll learn why they struggle to stay alone, such as feeling overwhelmed or irritated, and identify what's causing these issues, such as too much exercise or a lack of calming techniques. You'll also learn how to help them succeed, such as incorporating walks and brain games.

The training process is similar to driving a car. You first learn the rules of the road, assess risks, and get a feel for your car before combining everything on the road. Similarly, the SA Training involves learning everything about your dog and their body language, which is a reflection of their emotional state. Emotions are a crucial part of the training process, as they need to be kept under control to promote new learning.

In some cases, a holistic approach is used to support the emotional side of the training. This may include Bach Remedies or Emotion Code (energy healing), which release trapped emotions and bring balance to the body.

First Step -

Separation Anxiety Assessment!

The 1st step is to set up the base line. To do that, we arrange the 1h zoom meeting.

During that assessment, I ask you to do some exercises and at the same time, I explain you a bit more about the Separation Anxiety Training and emotions (I love to talk about the dog's  emotions).

Afterwards, after I have the answers I need, I set up the baseline and we can start the training.

I will email you all the handouts, support videos and app access.

I will set up the Whats App group  where you can share all your video training.

And we can then start training.....hurray!

Next Step -

Setting the Right Plan

The app access you will have 2 options:

DIAB (Door Is A Bore) or Departures. All depends on assessment and base line.

I prepare the new plan based on the training  video. Sometimes we can do new plan, and sometimes we will be 2-3 days on the same.

I will be waiting until I can see your dog is ready for the next step.

If your dog says " I don't care about you going to the door" I can increase to the next step.

We don't push your dog if he is not ready. Trust me, Your Dog will tell me when he is ready and you will learn all his/her communication.

It is a beautiful learning journey.

You will be sending the SA Training videos each time you do training (so 5 times a week)

The camera set up will depend on your home and your dog.

I will need to see him/her non-stop.

The video is just an example how the SA recordings looks like,

and the steps.

What am I looking for?

  • your body language and your dog's reaction to it
  • how he/she behaves during all your steps.
  • If he/she calms down after the 6th repetitions or not. If he/she gets more irritated or frustrated.
  • what can help him/her to calm down and support the SA training (walk, meal or brain work)

Each time I explain you what I see. You will learn a lot about your dog.

I love the weekly chat.

We always go back what we have learnt, what you have noticed and how we can improve the training to build the confidence in your dog.

I will be asking questions to see where we can add or change bits.

All depends on the dog, you and the videos.

After that, we carry on the training.

During Week 3, we will talk more about the next step as our 4 weeks training reaches the end. You will have time to decide too.

I will explain to you how the situation looks and what I recommend.

Again, all depends on your dog and his/her progress.
